[attr="class","about_1"] Magic and Contracts
There is nothing left to fear
[attr="class","content"]
Yes, magic does exist, but only to a few species. Those high enough to use magic know better than to use it freely around humans. The only place it is acceptable to use magic is within the house itself. It may never be used outside in front of humans, the only exception being those that are being contracted, after all, the magic is what seals the deal.
On that note, Contracts are a magical bind between the contractee and the holder of said contract. The masters, or the contract holders, are the ones that will claim the soul at the end of the contract. They will use magic to provide their contractee with whatever they asked for, be it fame, fortune, love, revenge, or in some rare cases, eternal youth or different timelines.
However, not all masters can use those harder magics. Demons for example can make deals, but their own magic is not strong enough to provide long term effects, and so, they have to turn to their own fallen angelic masters to complete the bidding of the contractee, for whatever their cost may be.
Contracts usually last around ten years, but sometimes can be lengthened or shortened, depending on the terms and the price the contractee is willing to pay. The soul of the contractee is automatically forfeit as soon as their contract ends, and they are whisked off to serve in the house. However, if they wish to have an extended contract, they may offer of the souls of their loved ones, usually children, as compensation.
