Every soul that makes a contract must come through this place. Those are the rules, and have been for many, many years. In this house, the devils rule over the desperate, preparing them for their trip downstairs. The souls of the wicked and the damned are devoured, and those that try, may earn their chances for redemption. But this house changes people. Will it change you?
Has there ever been anything you've wanted, that was worth selling your soul for? Have you ever been so desperate for a change in your life, that you made a deal with a devil? Sure, most people think that it's just an expression. No one would actually do it. No one would even know how, right? They are wrong. The devils walk among us, striking deals when people are their weakest and most vulnerable. A contract must be formed, and the debt must eventually be paid. So what happens when your time is up?

I will walk through the fog as I welcome death
☙ Master Kassian ❧
It was rather uncommon to find this specific Master in this section of the house, for he was often found either on the upper floors of the residence or in the living area - if not out of the house in another place. Currently he was seated at a table closest to the fireplace with books, papers, and even scrolls scattered across the surface. A half-eaten plate of food from what appeared to have been from the previous night sat at the edge of the table, dangerously close to the edge that is. The noble fallen had a pen in hand and several papers before him, seemingly zoned out as he focused on the words before him. Different languages from different material he had before him, but that did not stop the older fallen male as he jotted a few things down on a select piece of paper.
He was silent for quite a long while, the only sound that came from the surprisingly empty library, possibly due to the fact that it was already quite late, was the shuffling of papers and the crackling of the fire. After a few moments he leaned back in his chair and lifted his free hand, rubbing the side of his face as he stifled back a yawn. Even though he was far older than he appeared to be and didn't need that much sleep, he had been going at this for a couple of days straight. He was beginning to reach his energy limit. A soft sigh escaped Kassian as his eyes finally drifted away from the words to observe the flickering flames of the fire, which had no doubt been recently tended to by a servant while he was ignoring the entire world around him.
His eyes eventually moved over to the neglected plate at the edge of the table, his hand sliding down away from his face slowly. He needed more energy somehow or he'd just crash and who knew what would happen to all his precious work. With an indifferent expression, he moved his hand towards the plate, flicking his wrist as his fingers connected to the rim of the breakable plate. After that he turned his attention back to his work, the sound of the plate falling, and most likely breaking, would surely catch the attention of any servants close by. After all, it was their job to take care of messes like that.
Kassian was one who did not screw around when given tasks or work to do from certain people; well, people who he respected and viewed as higher than he was. Never, never would he do such tasks for other Masters. It wasn't like he really got along with them in the first place, he wasn't...exactly in tune with their general way of thinking anyhow. Though did that stop him? No, it did not. He merely ignored the whispers and went about his own business, his servants, if not the occasional slave, seemingly treated a little better than others. However, that seemed to only be a privilege to those who had earned such treatment from him.
His brows furrowed a little as he began to shift through the mess on the table, a small frown crossing his features. "Damn it all to Abbadon... Where did that scroll go?" He muttered, a curse in his native tongue following. He could have sworn he had set it down by that thick book! Unless it was that other thick book he also had on the table...

Falling like Ashes Inhibited, Limited To the Ground You rained down Pain!
It wasn't exactly uncommon for him to be in the library during his off time, when he had it of course. So it really wasn't that surprising to find him there now, tending to the fire and putting away the books that he couldn't to bother to read if he tried. It wasn't that he wasn't smart, it was just that he never really had the time to sit and learn the different languages. Most of the human languages he could understand rather well, but seeing them written was another thing. On this particular night, he decided that maybe it would be best just to sit and lurk around the library for awhile, as it was actually occupied by one of the more noble of masters.
Of course, it wasn't like he wasn't aware of this particular fallen's habits, after all, he had spent long enough under his rule to learn a thing or two about him. It also took very little time and observation for him to notice the plate about to be knocked off of the table. He supposed it was a sad attempt to get his master to eat anyways. So he edged closer bit by bit until he came to stand somewhere behind him. Sure enough, his master managed to knock the plate from the table, and he glided in to catch it before it hit the floor. Granted, he managed to not break the plate, but he did still manage to fall over and bash his head into the table in the process, which caused a bit of noise in itself. But it wasn't like Kaelis was known for his gracefulness.
He stood after a moment, cleaning up the food that managed to spill back up onto the plate before glancing down to the mess on the table that his master was currently fretting over. He shook his head a bit before reaching down and grabbing a thicker scroll, holding it towards the noble fallen for him to take. "Would you like me to organize this... For you, Master?" He had paused to avoid saying the word mess. After all, that would just be rude of him to insinuate that his master was causing small disasters in the library. The sheer amount of scrolls and books and parchments that were stacked on and around this particular table made him wonder how there were any books left on the shelves.
At the voice from his servant, Kassian glanced over and took the thick scroll from him. He said nothing for a moment as he unfurled it to scan his eyes over it to ensure that it was the correct one. After a few moments he placed it down on the table and smoothed it out a bit. "Thank you, Kaelis, and...yes, do that. Also get me more food. I'm running low on energy and I know you know how I can get when that happens." He spoke, his eyes remaining on the parchment as he tapped his finger against the table a couple of times before he proceeded to jot a few things down like he had originally been doing.
"Oh, and work on being more graceful. I don't need you killing yourself on furniture or over your own two feet." He stated as he glanced back up towards the servant. He lifted a free hand and gestured for the clumsy male to come a bit closer. "Let me have a look at your head." Indeed, he was definitely different from other Masters, especially for showing concern for his own servants. Though it wasn't like he wanted to lose his servants and whatnot easily, he wanted to keep them around long enough to have use of them. As well as their undying loyalty to himself.
"You're lucky you didn't break the skin. Be more careful next time, or need I teach you how to not hurt yourself when moving?" Kassian spoke up after a brief moment of silence from examining the other male. He then turned his attention back to his work, moving his more important things out of the way to avoid the man from tidying those up as well. "Go put ice on that once you go to your room once we're finished here." He added without even bothering to look up towards the demon.
Falling like Ashes Inhibited, Limited To the Ground You rained down Pain!
The servant bowed a bit and was about to walk off to get his master some more food when his lack of grace was mentioned. He made a small noise before bowing yet again. "Yes Master.." Another small noise was made as he was summoned closer to the noble fallen. "Er.." He bent over a bit as he was asked to have his head examined, his long black braid falling to the side of his face and hanging down a bit. "Yes Master.. I shall be more careful.. I just.. Wished to avoid breaking the dishware.." Which was actually the point wasn't it? He was willing to harm himself to keep things from breaking.
Kaelis straightened himself up and put one arm behind his back, the other holding the plate of wasted food, waiting for his master to will him away. But he could tell the noble was actually getting fairly tired, which again was fairly common for the man. The demon shook his head a bit and set the plate aside, far enough away that it wouldn't get knocked off of the table as he knelt down beside his master and pulled his hair off to one side, tilting his head a bit to expose his neck to the other male. "Please, Master... Take what you need." It was a small and simple request, but he wasn't entirely sure that the other male would actually do it. After all, more than half of the fallen masters he had served considered demons to be filth. But Kaelis wasn't entirely like other demons. He had never been human. He had been from a noble line at one point in time. But he supposed all of his time in Abbadon might have muddied his taste somewhere along the way.
He brought the knife from the plate and ran it along his neck, just enough for a small line of blood to form. It wasn't like the fallen often had fangs. Some of them did, but only if they actually wanted them, and he wasn't sure that his master was really one of those types. He seemed to be much different than the others had been. Hell, he still had many scars from all of the fallen that had just decided to rip his neck to shreds, which he kept rather hidden beneath the gold bands that he kept around his neck.
His eyes traveled over to his servant kneeling down beside him and pushing his braided hair aside to reveal his neck. He was quiet as Kaelis requested that he take as much of his blood as he needed, his head tilting to the side a little as he scanned his eyes over what was shown to him. After a few moments he leaned forward and placed a hand to his arm, pausing before he guided him up towards him after the man had cut his neck with the knife. "You know I don't drink blood often..." He spoke in a gentle voice, again something that was uncommon for the fallen noble.
He had the demon sit sideways in his lap where his cut neck was facing him, his fingers running over the gold bands lightly. "Hmm... Kaelis, meet me in my room later. And take those bands off when you do." He told him, finally turning his attention over to the cut neck. He leaned his head closer towards the man's neck, his tongue slowly moving over the cut before he slid his arms around the servant's middle to pull him a little closer as he sucked on the small wound.
The taste of the blood rolled past his tongue and down his throat, his breathing a tad heavy through his nose. His fingers curled around the fabric of the servant's clothing, taking care to not bite or dig into the male's neck. After several minutes he pulled back while panting a bit, soon licking his servant's wound again to make sure it closed up and healed. Afterwards he withdrew his arms and leaned back in his chair, tilting his head to the side a little. "Go get me some food now. You can finish what I had from earlier. Better to not waste it after all." He told him, turning his attention back to his work as he waited patiently for Kaelis to get off of his lap.
Falling like Ashes Inhibited, Limited To the Ground You rained down Pain!
It took a moment for his master to react to him, but he did, resting a hand against him and Kaelis fluidly moved into master's lap. For once he was actually slightly graceful about something. The noble male mentioned something about meeting in his room after he was finished, and the servant made a small nod. "Of course Master." Carefully he rested in his master's lap, leaning just slightly against him. After all, there was no real point in sitting as awkward and uncomfortably as he felt. It wouldn't be as pleasant if he was sitting there as stiff as a board. His head tipped slightly to the side again to allow the other male better access to the wound that was carefully placed to not be messy.
A small gasp left him as the other's arm slid around his waist. He supposed he should be used to such things, but for whatever reason, his modesty remained with him through all he had been through. He could almost feel the shift in his master's disposition at the taste of his blood. It was something that they all did, he supposed he was just as guilty of it. For him, it was almost like some sort of needy desperation, an almost intimate act that should only be shared between... Well.. That didn't really matter now did it? The way that his master's fingers wrapped themselves into his clothing, the way his arm drew him in closer, the feeling of his mouth hot against his neck. He supposed he couldn't help the small flush that came to his cheeks, despite how much he wished that it wouldn't. He had always sworn that he would feel nothing towards any of them. That they were actually the lower beings. But this one was different, at least he thought so. He had always been somewhat gentler than the other beasts of the house, and that was fine by him. Then again, he had not yet pissed him off.
Once he was finished, he felt the small bit of healing magic run over his neck. Well, that was thoughtful of his master at least, though he could have just dressed the wound himself and buried it under his bands like he had done with all of his other masters. Kaelis simply stood, turning to bow towards him again before picking up the plate and walking off with it to go and find his master some more food. For whatever reason, when he got to the kitchen, two servants were really going at it, and he wasn't terribly surprised to find his brother standing on the sidelines just watching them. He shook his head and set the plate down, mentioning something about feeding it to the dogs downstairs. It wasn't like he was hungry or anything. Kaelis just went about his business, making his master some food. At least until a very unpleasant face made itself known.
"Mmmm~ Which of you lovely little bites has that delightful little scent on ya? Hmmm~?" Instantly, the two that had been fighting straightened up and stuck their noses basically to the floor as they went about doing the work they had been supposed to be doing. The fallen king made his way around, sniffing each and every one of them. Rei dipped away from him, bowing politely before shaking his head, just to avoid being sniffed at, but Kaelis stiffened a bit as the other male approached him. Shit. Of course it was him. "Mmm... Let's have a taste then, shall we?"
Of course it would be rude to deny one of the kings something so fleeting, but it wasn't like this particular slimeball was his master at the moment, so he could duck out, right?
"Bel. I would appreciate it if you don't harass the ones that do not belong to you." Oh thank whatever gods were listening. The fallen king made some sort of irritated and whiny noise before turning around to see a katana pointed directly in his face. He put his hands up in resignation, letting out a soft sigh as Kaelis grabbed the plate of food he had been preparing and vacated the kitchen. He really did hate living in this place sometimes.
Once he returned to his master in the library, he quietly set the plate beside him, though he supposed that was how the last plate had gotten knocked off of the table in the first place. "Ahem..." Just a small noise to inform the man that there was indeed food for him now. "Is there... Anything else that you would like me to attend to...?" Of course, it wasn't like he really had any other chores to do that night, so he would just have to wait for his master to retire to his room anyways.
He said nothing as his servant left the library with the plate of unfinished food, simply focused on his work once more. He didn't know how much time had passed since Kaelis had departed the room, but when he had eventually returned with a new plate of food, Kassian lifted his gaze and stared at him for a few moments before he moved a couple of things aside to pull the plate before himself so that he could begin eating. "Put away the books and scrolls I am finished with. They're piled over there," he spoke as he gestured towards a recently messy corner of the table. He then went silent as he ate, all the while looking over his notes.
He said not a word further as his servant, of course, did as he was told. Eventually he finished eating and turned his attention to Kaelis, watching him for a few moments before he looked away to gather up his notes. "I'm finished for now, but I want this pile of reading material brought to my room so I can finish up in a more comfortable setting." He spoke up finally, a hand lifting to rub his shoulder as he tilted his head to the side with a sigh escaping him. Oh...he had definitely sat still for too long.
"Don't drop anything on your way up and do not be slow about it. I want you to also draw up a hot bath as well, per usual." He added on as he began to walk out of the library with the papers he had. He paused at the entrance, back facing his servant, and seemed to hesitate before he shook his head and just continued on his way to where his room was so he could get comfortable finally.
Falling like Ashes Inhibited, Limited To the Ground You rained down Pain!
Kaelis bowed politely and went about gathered the materials that he was asked to put away, and went about doing just that. He knew the library pretty well, and was often the one cleaning it and making sure that everything was in the right place. Either him or his brother, which was probably how they came across Kassian in the first place. He had managed to finish putting everything away by the time his master had finished his meal, but just barely. He had only just moved to stand slightly behind and to the side of him, a typical servant position, when his master asked for the remaining materials to be brought up to his room, which was still a bit of a pile, but he wasn't weak, he figured he could probably manage in a single trip so long as he was careful, though he probably could ask his brother for help if his pride didn't get in the way.
He watched as his master walked out of the library as he gathered up the materials. It wasn't hard to get his brother to do a few things as he did that, so that things would be properly ready before their shared master even managed to get upstairs. Rei had made his way to the master's room, drawing up a bath at the preferred temperature with the preferred salts and scents. Honestly, Rei was much better at drawing baths than Kaelis was, as he seemed to have better senses, but Kaelis was much better with the physical labor of it all. After all, Rei had grown up as more of a prince than Kaelis had.
The younger of the two had managed to make it upstairs as his master was getting settled in his room, the older of the brothers had long since gone. Kaelis made sure to set the materials wherever it was that his master wished them to be. From there, he went tidying up the room and making sure that everything was ready and laid out for when the noble fallen decided to retire.
By the time the noble had arrived to his room, his bath had been drawn and the materials he had wanted were placed exactly in the spot he needed them to be. He paid Kaelis no mind as the servant tidied up his room while he made his way over to where his bath was, stripping himself of his clothing, and thus revealing the scars along his back of where his wings had been ripped from him, and then got into his bath. He sank down until the water hit his chest, a heavy, relaxed sigh escaping the man as he leaned his head back and closed his eyes. Gods that felt good on his muscles.
He was quiet, as well as still, for quite some time, to the point of perhaps having fallen asleep in his bath out of exhaustion. His chest rose and fell in a slow, steady pattern as his arms rested on the edge of the tub. He only started to come to when a noise caught his attention, his eyes opening slowly as he blinked a few times in a groggy manner. He slowly shifted in the now lukewarm water as he turned his head to see what the noise had originated from.
"Hm? What was that noise?" He asked in the midst of a yawn, a hand lifting to rub his eyes as he stretched slightly. Good gods just how long had he fallen asleep for? "Fetch me my towel and robe. I'm getting out." He spoke up after a moment, not really bothering to wait to get out of the water. However, he waited beside the large basin of water for his servant to bring him his requested items. "Strip yourself of all those bands. They're distracting."
Falling like Ashes Inhibited, Limited To the Ground You rained down Pain!
Of course he had been quite bored with everything having been cleaned already and his master had fallen asleep in the bath, of course this was rather usual as well, and Kaelis, not being able to really help himself, started snooping around his master's newest obsession of notes. He couldn't understand any of it, but that was fine, whatever it was seemed sort of interesting. Perhaps he would have to ask about it sometime. After awhile, he managed to trip over a pile of the newly arrived books, and quickly went about fixing the mess he had made, stacking them all up again. But it was too late, his master had woken to the noise and he shook his head, scrambling to his feet and going about doing what had been asked of him, handing the noble male a towel and holding his robe for him until he was dried off and would take it. Unless of course he asked Kaelis to dry him, but he never had before, so he doubted that he would now.
The servant blinked a bit as his fingers moved up to run along the golden bands. Take them off... He didn't exactly like taking them off, but his master had willed it, so he had to. Those were the rules. His hands shook a bit as he reached up behind his neck to unclasp the bands, slowly clicking each one apart and setting carefully holding onto each of them. His neck was fairly scarred and rather bruised from all of the abuse that he had been through, and the Punishers really liked to squeeze as hard as they could, making the bands dig into his skin whenever they had the chance, which was likely what caused the bruising in the first place. "A-All of them..?" Of course he hadn't really considered the bands on his wrists, ankles, or waist. But again, if his master had ordered it of him, then he would not refuse. A small gulp came from him before he started removing the rest of them, sliding the bands down his arms and moving to click the ones off of his ankles and off of his waist. It was quite odd how naked he felt without them. Still, he clasped them rather tightly in his hands as he stood there, staring at the floor. "A-Anything else... Master..?"

He took the towel from his servant and dried himself off, for he had never requested any of his servants to do that small and easy task in his stead, before he took the robe and slipped that on. His arms crossed as he observed Kaelis taking off the gold bands, his eyebrow merely raising at the question from the male about the rest of the bands to be taken off. Once they were all off Kassian said nothing as his eyes traveled over the areas on Kaelis where the bands used to be. After a few moments he turned away and walked over towards where his bed was. "Put those bands on my desk and come here. Those scars and bruises are absolutely horrendous." He told him, sitting down on the edge of his bed.
He leaned back on one hand as he awaited his servant to approach him, an indifferent expression on his face currently. "Sit down," he gestured to the spot beside him, "and let me have a look at those...marks of yours." He waited only a moment for his servant to be seated before he went straight to work on examining the scars and bruises on him. He ran his fingers over the marred spots on his skin, quiet as he just tried to determine if he could even possibly heal any of it.

Needless to say, Kaelis found himself utterly nervous by all of this. He also felt quite ashamed for some reason. Perhaps it was his overwhelming modesty that did it to him. Whatever the reason, he felt a tightness in his chest and stomach. Still, he did as he was asked, moving towards the desk to carefully set the bands down. It was easy to tell that they were some sort of safety blanket for him, as he rarely ever took them off, and they were all very well taken care of, polished rather pristinely with hardly any scuffs or scratches. He ran his finger along the edge of one of them before stepping away and quietly making his way over to the bed that his master had patted, taking a rather nervous seat next to him.
A bit of a flinch came from the servant as his master ran his fingers along the raised flesh of his scars. What exactly was the point of this anyways? It took quite a lot of self control not to just pull away from it, say goodnight, and go off to bed. But it wasn't like he could really do that either. So instead he just sat there, as stiff as he possibly could be, a slight tremble beneath his skin at each touch. "F-forgive m-me for asking b-but.. Wh-what is this f-for...?" Surely he had just expected the man to grab ahold of him and take more of his blood after their small encounter in the library. e hadn't been expecting... Whatever this was.

At the question that was nervously stuttered out towards him, Kassian turned his gaze over to his servant, his fingers pausing in what they were currently doing. "What is this for? I would ask you what kind of question that is, however that is a reasonable thing to ask of me." He told him, shrugging a little before he went back to examining him. "I'm trying to figure out a way to heal your bruises and or scars." He stated after a few moments, pausing in what he was doing once more to look at his nervous servant.
"Tell me, how often do you get injured like this? How often do you get your body so marred up in such an unattractive way?" He questioned him, a serious expression on his face as he held the man's bicep; not because it was unmarked but so that he would not really hurt him by grabbing a bruised section. After a moment he shook his head and released the servant, getting up from his bed and fixed his robe a bit. He then turned to face him a little, his eyes growing soft in an almost seductive manner.
"Tell me... Do you wish for the ability to not hide behind those bands? To not hide such awful marks on your body?" He questioned him, his chin tilting up slightly as the words rolled off his tongue in a smooth and beckoning manner. "What would you give to be...whole again?"

To... Heal... Him...? Wasn't that against everything that the Masters stood for? They were, more often than not, the ones that did such things to him in the first place. "Erm..." How would he even answer such a question? "Most.. Were left by.. p-previous Masters..." It wasn't like that wasn't obvious. Kaelis was a good servant, always doing whatever was asked of him. So it was probably more obvious that his masters would just do things like this to him because they felt like it.
But then the man stood, taking an entirely different approach to the matter. What would he give...? "Nothing..." Kaelis stood and moved over to the desk, running his fingers over the bands again, debating whether or not just to put them back on so that he would quit being examined like this. But he knew it would be against the order to take them off. "They are a part of me, you understand... I do not care whether or not I have flawless skin. It is true that I hide behind them... That I am ashamed of them... But.." He paused and looked down at the bands again, taking one in his hand. "They were a gift to me... From someone rather dear... I have added more through the years but..." Again he shook his head, clutching the one that usually sat around his neck, with a dark red stone set in it. "I do not entirely wish for them to be gone..."
He turned and faced his master for a moment, setting the band back on the desk. "You already own me.. But I am not stupid enough to enter into a contract with one of your kind. I am not here because I have sold myself off for some sort of favor. And I am much to prideful to ever do such a thing. Perhaps that is why so many of your kind feed off of me and cut me open. My blood holds my energy, yes? You can taste that my soul is in one piece.. That I do not truly belong to anyone. That I do not owe anyone. And I am not going to start now."
Now he stood and sounded much more like the noble being that he truly was, some sort of fire in those deep crimson eyes. Of course he must have realized it as immediately his body language changed and he faced the floor, becoming much more subservient in nature. "Apologies... I.. I..." But what exactly could he say? To have had such defiance. Surely he would be punished for such a thing, wouldn't he? "F-forgive me.. I have... Spoken out of turn..." To his knees he went, then to the floor, curled up with his forehead against the rug. "A-anything. You do.. I.. I deserve.." At least he understood that much.

He was silent as he watched Kaelis get up and move over to the desk, staring at him as he responded the way he did. As soon as his servant noticed what he had done, the fallen's eyes followed him down to the floor as he became submissive once more. A sigh escaped the man as he moved towards the groveling servant, stopping before him as he placed a hand on his hip. "Rise, Kaelis." He spoke simply, his eyes hardened as he kept them locked on his servant. Indeed this man was a free one, his soul owned by none. Yet...why did he stick around as such?
"You have indeed spoken out of line, that much is true." He told him firmly, pausing for a brief moment before he shook his head. "Come here, closer." He ordered, waiting for him to step closer to him before he sharply smacked him across the face. After that he pushed him back until he was pressed against the desk, reaching a hand past him to grab the band with the red stone embedded in it. "Many will, and no doubt have always, seek to have a taste of you. To devour you and to make your soul theirs." He paused as he pulled back slightly and showed the man his precious golden band, holding it just out of reach from their position.
"I'm going to offer you a deal. And no, this is no contract of the sort. This stays simply between the two of us in this very room. I will make you my Doll, merely so I can irritate others who will try to have their way with you only to discover that they cannot." He told him, putting the man's band back on his neck gently. He then placed his hand against his cheek, right where he had struck him. "You needn't be touched by any other Master or Punisher in this house so long as you are my Doll. What happens to you when you are such...that will be decided upon when the time comes."
